Little Smart Peek-a-Boo Apple Acres - There'll be no bored babies with this orchard-theme crib toy from Vtech, known for its innovative electronic toy design. The toy offers infants and toddlers eight different activities that operate in three modes: voice, music, and bedtime. In voice mode, babies can use various buttons, switches, or a crank to hear "ABC's," numbers, and greetings. In music mode, they can activate a variety of tones, as well as eight different melodies. Little ones can even "play" tunes by tapping out programmed notes on a trackball. At bedtime, the toy becomes a music box, playing lullabies for several minutes before putting itself to sleep. The sun at the top of the orchard lights up with each tone. A scratch-resistant, nonbreakable mirror helps babies get acquainted with themselves. Includes a volume control switch and automatic shutoff, preserving the two AA batteries required. Can be used on the floor or safely attached to the crib with straps provided.

Crawl 'n' Cruise Playground - By building a wide variety of interactive games and developmental challenges into one toy, the multifaceted Crawl 'N Cruise Playground should keep your growing baby and toddler entertained for many months. The all-plastic, multicolored playground converts to three different play modes; one for crawling babies, one for babies who are beginning to pull themselves up into a standing position, and one for babies and toddlers who are just beginning to walk. The sturdy playground converts easily, and each play mode reflects a different stage in your baby's development by offering age-appropriate games and activities. Loaded with balls, spinners, dials, activity rings, and mirrors, the playground is also equipped with an impressive bank of flashing lights and recorded music that is activated when baby crawls under a built-in electronic sensor or bats the dangling ball in the center of the toy. The Crawl 'N Cruise Playground is powered by three C batteries (not included) and requires adult assembly.

Mega Blok Wagon - 2001 - For the toddler who's just discovering construction toys, the Mega Blocks Wagon is a simple way to take building materials from site to site. Topped with a sturdy plastic handle, the wagon is just over a foot high and runs on four 6-inch plastic wheels. Inside are 50 assorted Mega Blocks. (These are mostly plain blocks but include a car and two people blocks.) The side of the wagon has a row of Mega Blocks knobs, so grand structures can be created right on the top of the wagon.

Step Start Get Up 'n Go Discovery Center - This multidimensional table has enough bells and whistles to keep babies thoroughly mesmerized. Although it has a moving train, peekaboo doors, sliding beads, a musical bandstand button (it actually plays music when pressed), and much more, it's the three buttons that light up and offer cheerful announcements when pressed that are the main event. Sometimes the buttons state their colors ("red," "blue," "yellow"). Sometimes they announce the picture on each one ("airplane," "boat," "car") or the letter in the alphabet that each object begins with. Other times you're rewarded with a mechanical noise. Press the hot rod and hear the horn go "beep-beep." Push the boat and the foghorn blasts. Press the airplane and it goes "vroom." This exceptionally stimulating plaything introduces babies to letters, sounds, and cause and effect. Measures 15.5 by 16 inches. Requires two AA batteries (not included).
